Parents’ Right-to-Know — Teacher and Paraprofessional Qualifications

Dear Parent/Guardian:

North Daviess R-III School District receives federal Title I funds. Under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), parents and guardians have the right to request information regarding the professional qualifications of their child’s classroom teachers and instructional paraprofessionals.

Upon request, the District will provide information regarding:

• Whether the teacher has met Missouri certification and licensing requirements for the grade level and subject area in which the teacher provides instruction;
• Whether the teacher is teaching under an emergency or other provisional status through which state qualification or licensing requirements have been waived;
• Whether the teacher is teaching in the field of discipline of his or her certification; and
• Whether the student receives services from paraprofessionals and, if so, the qualifications of those paraprofessionals.

Parents and guardians may also request information regarding state and local assessment requirements and applicable policies concerning student participation in those assessments.

All tested faucets and drinking fountains were below Missouri's action level of 5 parts per billion (ppb) for lead.
